I believe human progress accelerates over time. It took us millions of years to move from early stone tools to controlled fire, and millennia to move from settled agriculture to industrialization, a century to go from electricity to computers, and only decades to advance from computers to practical AI. Each major leap in human capability has arrived orders of magnitude faster than the one before it. I believe AI will further accelerate the pace of human progress beyond anything we have seen so far, because better tools build even better tools.
